Information

The European SKA Consortium (ESKAC) is a consortium of several partners to support the SKA Program Development Office (SPDO).

ESKAC was formed because of

• mutual interest and commitment to develop the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) radio telescope as a joint international endeavour
• the need for coherent European coordination to foster the development of a European Square Kilometre Array program, in cooperation with and contributing to the global SKA program,
• the need for a European consortium to participate in the International Square Kilometre Array Program as a regional group

ESKAC's mission is to:  

• foster European and global technical and scientific activities related to the SKA,
• encourage, support, and stimulate individual national, joint international and European funding applications for scientific and technical development and operation of the SKA,
• foster coordinated European technical and scientific input to the SKA project
• serve as a conduit for exchange of scientific and technical information between its members, their communities, and the SKA organisation
